Pretty in Pink.....Rega
"Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace." - Milan Kundera
This is Rega, as her name was changed from Rage. She is an 8 year old, female Pit Bull. Rega was a bait dog, which means someone used her to taunt other Pits into fighting. Her previous owner dumped her at a shelter here in the DFW area. She was rescued within minutes of being put to sleep. As I was sitting with her in her shelter pen a shelter worker came to take her to the back, where they euthanize them. She was somewhat aggressive with the shelter workers and with some others. Rega had a case of fear and depression that was released as a bit of aggression. She never tried to bite but would run and bark. I wasn't in her pen 30 seconds squatting in front of her, face to face, when she gave me many kisses. She has not been aggressive with me or has she shown any aggression since she has been here at 4 Toes Up. I tested her aggression on the way home with a hamburger. She was very sweet and waited for me to tear it in pieces for her, my hand never left from the hamburger or from being close to her face, absolutely no aggression whats so ever! Her face is quite scarred from all of the bite marks, but her heart is healing and she is learning to trust again! She is quite the little lady with a very polite demeanor and her sweet personality. Her face has cheered up and her tears have now dried up. In fact she is playing ball and kicking up her heels like a young pup! With her past, we recommend Rega have a home without other dogs. She would be great with a single person or a couple that would spend some quality time with her and consider her a part of their family. She is full of love and wants to share her love with someone that will love her back. If you would like more information on Rega, please don't hesitate to email Lynn at Bulloxers@hotmail.com
